The facts about President Barack H. Obama still are hidden from view with an able media assist regarding his credentials to be president. This isn’t about the birther movement but about national security and a different standard being allowed for national leadership.

To receive top level security clearances when I worked in Oak Ridge, TN we could not have smoked pot nor done drugs. Enter now the presidential races where not only does the current occupant of the White House admit as have others to using drugs, but in an in your face move he writes about it in glowing details in his 1995 memoir, "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance." Yet too many of our children are doing hard time, being assessed felonies and are wiped out of the viable job market for doing the same. Associations with leftist, communist or others with questionable loyalties to this nation were disqualifying for a security clearance. I was baffled in learning that people who knew me as a child were interviewed before I was allowed access to certain things. Love it or hate it, the Deneesh DeSouza film 2016: Obama’s America lays out associations with known anti-American radicals on which Mr. Obama is given a pass while others have seen their careers limited for the same. But it is the assumption of historic mantels by Obama that I find most galling. Three examples come to mind:
  • First is the wrong bit of history in asserting that Mr. Obama was the first African American to assume the mantel of editor of the Harvard Law Review. In fact, Charles Hamilton Houston for whom Harvard’s Law School is named, known for his role in killing “Jim Crow Laws” which evolved on the watch of the democrats and foundation layer for the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education ruling helped by one of his students--Thurgood Marshall, was the first black editor of the Harvard Law Review.
  • The overshadowing of the pivotal role of the intellectually brilliant Ralph Johnson Bunche, the first black male to win the Noble Prize is sad. Bunche distinguished himself in his service to the U. S. government and to the UN as an adviser to the Department of State and to the military on Africa and colonial areas of strategic military importance during World War II. The confrontation between Arabs and Jews in Palestine from June 1947 to August of 1949 culminated in Bunche being named acting UN mediator on Palestine. His commitment to negotiating between Israel and the Arab States, allowed Bunche to obtained signatures on armistice agreements which led to his peace prize. Now, Mr. Obama is “On the View” for all to see while Israel's Netanyahu and other Middle East players are put on hold in a very dangerous game of chicken.
  • The constant fault finding with “W” -- George W. Bush and not giving him credit for starting the assaults on terrorism which led to the demise of Osama Bin Laden or blaming every problem encountered by the Obama administration on Bush is irritating. It is clear that previous administrations from 1935 forward have slowly added to our economic woes. Yet Bush has stayed out of the fray and given Obama room to operate without assessing blame while others keep unjustifiably piling blame on Bush. When will this administration be held accountable?
Don’t believe the polls!!! One thing I learned in statistics is how folks can lie with numbers and manipulate them to their own purposes. This ain’t over ‘til the fat lady sings and I haven’t warmed up yet. Every vote matters and citizen involvement is critical to determine the direction of this nation. Speak now with your vote or forever hold your peace.
