Itâs your fault! Yes, yours! Donât look around, look in the mirror. Itâs your fault, you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small business owners, corporate staffs, factory owners and workers. You are to blame for the current state of affairs in America, for the liberal (now âprogressiveâ) oriented 49 percenters who voted Obama in for another four years. You are to blame.
Yeah, I know some of you are asking (some a little less polite but just as hot), âHow in blazes can you say this isÂ
my fault? I worked my tail off to get where I am, and I donât care what Obama says, IÂ
did build it!â Yes you did, and thatâs the problem
Letâs set the âway backâ machine to the ârevolutionâ of the â60s. Remember? Hippies, free love, âmake love, not war,â acid trips, the Jesus movement, sit-ins, etc.; some of us were right in the middle of it. âYeah, yeah, that was then, this is now. What does that have to do with anything, especially what is going down in America today?â Just everything.
Let me make this short, sweet and to the point for you. This is what happened; yesterday, after the last âtoke on the doobie,â the last acid trip and the âJesus freaksâ off in church somewhere, we all started down the road to today.
All you hard-working nine-to-fivers, small and large business owners, corporate staff, factory owners and workers, whatÂ
did you do? Let me guess â in pursuit of the American dream, you finished school and/or joined the service or went to work or into business. You knew that while there might be a free-love scene (maybe even participated. I mean, it was free, right?), you knew there was no free lunch, and so you hung up your âtie dyesâ and went out and hit it.
You had learned from Mom and Pop, Grand-père or friends and relations that, despite the long hairâs rhetoric, there was no free lunch (âYou donât work, you donât eatâ) and besides, âThis is still America, the sky is the limit!â So you graduated, grabbed a briefcase or a lunch pail, punched the time clock and got with the program.
Oh yeah, what about the long haired, anti-American, sit-in types? Wonder what happened to them? After all, they werenât into all this âwork hard, succeed and make dreams come true in the land of opportunityâ jazz. Well, guess what? They really did believe âyourâ America was faulty and needed to be changed. None of this ânine-to-five working stiffâ jazz for them; they were determined, committed to changing the system. So, whileÂ
you went into the market place,Â
theywent into academia and the media. While you were at work attempting to make life better and provide college for your kids, they became the teachers and professors in those self-same colleges you were struggling to put your kids through. (Lest some forget, all Ivy League colleges like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc., were founded as schools dedicated to educations based onÂ
biblical, notÂ
religious butÂ
transcendent, principles.)
Would you like to hazard a guess as to what many colleges/universities are teaching your kids today? While the president of Fordham University âscoldedâ a campus group for inviting Ann Coulter (whom they subsequently uninvited) to address the students, Bill Ayers (yes,Â
that Bill Ayers) was warmly welcomed by the staff of an Oregon university campus.
This new âprogressivismâ (nee liberalism) isnât really all that new. President Woodrow Wilson is reported to have said the purpose of modern education was âto make men as unlike their fathers as possible.â By the way, did you happen to notice the Democratic National Convention video which proclaimed, âGovernment is the one thing we all belong toâ? Truth is, it is the other way around:Â
Government belongs to us, not us to the government.
Here is what another individual had to say about the state:
âWhen there isÂ
state, there can be no freedom, but when there is
freedom, there will be no state.â (Lenin)
Early feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman wanted theÂ
state to destroy âthe unchecked tyranny ⌠of the private home.â
It is interesting to discover that colleges (and the media) are subtly (or not so subtly) indoctrinating your kids with a different worldview. You know, the one that says America is all wrong; that rich isnât right (unless you are a movie star, rock star or you are endowing leftist college funds); theÂ
other rich folks, the âstinking capitalistsâ (the ones that worked for it) should take care of the less fortunate â you know, the unmarried âbaby mamasâ and their âbaby daddiesâ (new correct terminology for unmarried women who get knocked up by men they arenât married to â neither of whom is working, by the way).
A professor at the University of Rochester, in an article widely read by many college students, has argued that Romneyâs success in life is based not on hard work, sacrifice and opportunities available to all, but on âprivilegeâ â âwhite privilegeâ â and here you thought it was about study, preparation, hard work and commitment.
Of course, you must understand you canât expect todayâs âfree thinkersâ to work in some unfulfilling job at a measly minimum wage for some âcapitalist pigâ or learn some demeaning blue-collar skills. Anyway, âSociety owes me, the government has all that money, let the fat cats pay a little more. Besides, if the government (you) had paid for my birth control pills, or abortion (you prudes), I wouldnât be in this mess. Itâs all your fault.â
Wonder where this sort of thinking came from? Perhaps these interesting quotes by Vladimir Lenin may give us some additional insight:
â
Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.â
âGive me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.â
So, as they say south of the border, and now in many Western states, âQue paso?â
Thatâs what happened. Both of you â husbands and wives â were so busy making a living you had to turn your childrenâs education and your media over to the âprofessionals.â From local school boards to the PTA to university faculties, the âprosâ took over.
When they took God out of the classroom, we submitted to theirÂ
wisdom. As they transformed our basic âold fashionedâ (American) values into thinly disguised âmodernâ (socialist/communist) principles, we were too busy watching the ânewsâ and/or Archie Bunker (our favorite replacement for âFather Knows Bestâ) to notice.
Instead of telling us who weÂ
are, they have focused on telling us who weÂ
are not. Emphasis was/is on what we doÂ
not have, instead of what weÂ
do have.
Guess what? If you (and I) donât step up and begin to take back our âold-fashionedâ America and we end up like most of the ânew modernâ European Common Market countries, guess whose fault that will be.
